As I was unfamiliar with the requirements of the on-line market,
especially concerning the field of hip-hop clothing, I only had
a general idea of what I wanted and needed to look further in
order to properly address the audience segment interested in this
product category. I felt as though I was walking on a minefield
and then decided to let the website aspect evolve in the hands
of the guys at DIFFstudios, who showed tremendous interest in
developing this on-line shop.
The hardest part of the process was probably photographing all
of the clothes and deciding on their layout; on the whole, we
worked well together, with ideas and demands coming up spontaneously
once the website became functional and we were able to understand
the needs of our site's visitors.
What is most interesting about a shop of this type is the fact
that the elements are constantly refreshed, allowing the shop
to maintain an up-to-date image at all times. With the products
being renewed, the images change according to season and possibly
to new product categories.
The image of what you do as a business comes to our aid in the
new century with the on-line environment. Information is fast,
pages can be easily accessed from anywhere in he world and, surprisingly
for www.hiphopusa.ro, the site is being visualized in America,
Asia and all over Europe.
It is said that advertising is the heart of the trade and I believe
it to be true, but you don't necessarily have to stand out through
aggressive, costly advertising.
I am addressing a specific category of customers, to a great extent
comprised of young people, for whom accessing the website is a
lot like playing; as the Internet is their primary source of information,
it was very important to have the site set up before approaching
other promotional strategies.
The website has been running for one year (starting in July 2005)
and the number of our customers is growing every month; it's exciting
to see that the boy who wants hip-hop clothes and accessories
or graffiti items doesn't need to go to a big city to find them.
By developing this on-line retail solution, we cater to a great
number of both local and foreign customers and we hope to establish
a long-term collaboration.
We will continue working with DIFFstudios for any future websites
